Kitesurfing in Cabarete
Kitesurfing is the worlds fastest growing sport and kitesurfing in Cabarete is world class. Local Cabarete kitesurfers are now making their mark on the world kiteboarding scene. The busiest area in Cabarete for kitesurfing is just out side Cabarete, called kitebeach. The conditions in kitebeach are flat water or chop for 300m or so and as you approach the reef waves develop which during the winter months can be quite large. For flat water riding you can try Playa de Laguna nearby, ask at kitebeach for directions. With light breezes in the morning the reef protected bay is great for beginners to kitesurfing, more experienced kitesurfers are out in the afternoon when the side shore wind kicks in to 15-25 knot.
Learning to Kitesurf in Cabarete
There are a number of kiteschools in Cabarete that help you in learning kitesurfing all of which have good instructors. It pays to shop around, try and get an instructor that is patient and that you can rely on, if theres a good wind you dont want to be watching your instructor kitesurf when he should be given you lessons!

There are a couple of hotels on Kitebeach, kitebeach hotel for the more budget conscious, and Playa de Oro for a little more luxury, hopefully soon one of the hotels will add their info
The centre of kitebeach Cabarete can get very busy at times and it may pay to head a little upwind or downwind or even set off from the beach between kitebeach and windsurf beach, this is a short stroll from kitebeach, that said you are in a great kitesurfing environment with friendly eclectic crowd all having fun kitesurfing at Cabarete
